As the Finance Data Governance Operation Manager you will play a crucial role in supporting and operating the data governance practices, ensuring data quality, compliance, and alignment with organizational data strategies across Finance.

Background and Purpose:

Through FFP we are looking to build a sustainable growth platform by driving more consistent performance across each of our markets through modernisation of our organisational model and technology platform.

As part of this modernisation there is a need to create a Finance centre of excellence to manage and run data governance processes. Through the Future Finance Programme (FFP), the candidate will need to operationalise newly designed data governance processes and ensure they are running effectively within BAU.

The role purpose is as follows:

  • Operate newly defined processes to adopt compliance with data governance policies across multiple data domains.
  • Support the implementation and operate the data governance operating model as laid out by the Head of Data Governance.
  • Perform assurance across Finance processes align with data governance best practices.

The key deliverables:

  • Support the operationalisation of the Data Governance Council for Finance.
  • Operationalise Finance Data Ownership model through a data domain and sub-domain construct.
  • Operationalise and run data governance processes for the maintenance and upkeep of policy compliance.
  • Operationalise Finance Data security and entitlements model.
  • Work with Data Owners and Data Stewards to establish process specific Critical data elements.
  • Support the process to facilitate finance data access and extracts.
  • Run critical data elements for key Finance processes and implement data control checks against agreed thresholds.
  • Operationalise Finance COE for Data Governance.
  • Partner with the Enterprise Data COE and Chief Data Office to ensure Finance Complies with Group Data Policy and associated Minimum standards.
  • Operate the framework for tracking and managing manual interventions in end user developed applications.
  • Partnering with the FDR Product owner, design and implement a security and entitlements model to secure all Finance data but also making it available in a timely fashion to those who are allowed and required to access it.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Prepare packs and minute actions and decisions within Data Governance Council for Finance.
  • Run Finance Data Ownership model through a data domain and sub-domain construct.
  • Run data governance processes.
  • Run designed Finance Data security and entitlements model.
  • Support the implementation and run process to facilitate finance data access and extracts.
  • Run critical data elements for key Finance processes and implement data.
  • Run requirements and build out Finance COE for Data Governance.
  • Prepare Finance Training and Educational programme to raise the awareness and overall level of data maturity in the organisation.
  • Run the implemented a security and entitlements model on the Finance Data Platforms.

Candidate Requirements:

  • At least 8-10yrs experience in a Data Governance or Data Quality Role.
  • Working knowledge of Collibra/Purview or another Data Dictionary platform.
  • DCAM Certification or extensive Data Governance Experience in another Financial Institution.
  • Operating model Implementation – Proven track record in designing and implementing operating model design.
  • Has experience working in the Insurance Industry.
  • Has experience working with ServiceNow and Alteryx.
  • Has experience in meeting data regulations such as privacy, sovereignty and records management.
  • Has extensive experience working with Audit, Compliance and Operational Risk.
  • Has designed and implemented a Training & Educational programme to improve data maturity in an organisation.
