Position: Senior Finance Manager
Location: Alor Setar, Kuala Kangsar, Kedah, Malaysia
Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced finance professional to support and manage the company’s finance operations in Malaysia. This role will be responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, tax compliance, cash flow management, and internal controls, while providing reliable financial insights to support business decisions.
The position works closely with the General Manager and regional stakeholders to ensure financial transparency, compliance, and sustainable business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Management & Reporting Oversee day-to-day finance and accounting operations, including financial reporting, closing activities, and compliance with applicable accounting standards and local regulations.
- Budgeting & Financial Analysis Prepare annual budgets and forecasts, monitor actual performance against budget, analyze variances, and provide timely financial analysis and recommendations to management.
- Internal Control & Compliance Maintain and improve internal control procedures to ensure accuracy, transparency, and compliance with company policies and statutory requirements.
- Tax & Statutory Matters Manage tax filings and statutory submissions, ensure compliance with local tax regulations, and coordinate with external tax advisors, auditors, and authorities when required.
- Cash Flow & Cost Control Monitor cash flow, working capital, and expenditure to support business operations and financial stability; implement basic cost control and efficiency measures.
- Audit & External Coordination Coordinate with external auditors, banks, and service providers to support audits, banking matters, and financial reviews.
- Team Supervision Provide guidance and supervision to junior finance staff, with at least 1 year of experience in team coordination or people management.
Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
Professional Qualification:
Professional accounting qualification is preferred (e.g. ACCA, CPA, CIMA, or equivalent), but not mandatory.
Experience:
- Minimum 5–6 years of relevant finance or accounting experience
- At least 1 year of experience supervising or managing a small finance team
Skills & Competencies:
- Solid knowledge of accounting principles, budgeting, and financial reporting
- Familiarity with local tax and statutory requirements
- Good analytical skills with the ability to translate financial data into business insights
- Strong attention to detail and compliance mindset
- Good communication and coordination skills in a multicultural working environment
Language: Fluent in English, Mandarin Chinese, and Bahasa Malaysia。
Preferred Experience
- Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or project-based environments
- Exposure to ERP or financial systems implementation or improvement
