Job summary

A leading payment services company in Malaysia seeks an experienced Enterprise Architect to align IT strategies with business goals. This role will involve developing and maintaining the Enterprise Architecture framework across various domains, ensuring optimal reuse of IT assets and compliance with security standards. Candidates should have 10-15 years of technical lead experience, including 5+ years in architecture leadership, preferably within the payment or FinTech sector. Job description

The Enterprise Architect is responsible for aligning the organization’s IT strategy with business goals through the development and governance of enterprise‑wide architecture frameworks. This role provides technical leadership, designing, developing and maintaining the target architecture of the Group’s Digital Platform, standardizing the development framework and design principles, ensuring maximum reuse of services, cost‑effective deployment and effective Cyber/IT security controls in collaboration with the IT Security Team.

Job Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the Enterprise Architecture (EA) framework across business, application, data, and technology domains.
• Align IT initiatives with business strategies and regulatory requirements.
• Develop target architecture for the Group’s Digital Platform so that (a) the Designers and developers can work towards a common goal in the most optimal manner, (b) whatever is built can be easily re‑used and extend in future digital initiatives, (c) existing IT assets/services are re‑used to the maximum.
• Review existing architecture of the Group and propose improvements while ensuring reliability, speed, cost and security targets are achieved.
• Review designs of strategic projects to ensure alignment with standards and highlight improvement opportunities.
• Facilitate Enterprise Technical Architecture Forum for architectural governance through reviews, assessments, and compliance checks.
• Define and govern architectural standards, principles, and guidelines to maximize the benefit and minimize the risk and cost of the Group’s investment in technology.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend strategic adoption paths.

Education Requirements

A Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or a related field.

Experience Requirements

10 – 15 years of Technical Lead Experience with 5+ years in an architecture leadership role. Knowledge of cloud platforms, microservices and API management is preferable. 3 – 5 years of experience in the payment / FinTech industry. TOGAF Certification is an added advantage.
