Job description

Provide legal expertise for a wide range of contractual issues within construction and engineering projects, particularly those governed by FIDIC standards. The role involves drafting and evaluating agreements, advising internal teams, and ensuring that all project activities align with legal, regulatory, and commercial requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Draft, analyze, and negotiate construction-related agreements, including FIDIC-based contracts, supplier arrangements, and subcontractor documentation.
• Verify that all contractual documents meet applicable legal requirements and comply with internal governance frameworks.
• Deliver guidance on contractual duties, liabilities, and potential areas of exposure.
• Oversee adherence to construction legislation, environmental obligations, and health and safety regulations.
• Manage claims, disputes, and alternative dispute resolution processes in accordance with contractual and statutory procedures.
• Support litigation efforts and coordinate with external legal advisors when required.
• Identify, evaluate, and address legal risks associated with project execution.
• Conduct background and compliance reviews on vendors, partners, and other project participants.
• Stay informed on evolving legal and regulatory developments relevant to the construction sector.
• Promote strong corporate governance practices and ensure statutory compliance across operations.
• Collaborate with project, procurement, and leadership teams to provide legal input during planning and implementation.
• Engage with regulatory bodies, clients, and subcontractors to resolve legal and contractual issues.
