Senior Industrial Designer- Instructions Lead

Add expected salary to your profile for insights

We create premium play experiences that get families outside and spark imagination. Our products are big, engineered, and often assembled at home. Clear instructions are not “nice to have” for us, they are mission critical. If you love the craft of industrial design, care deeply about clarity, and enjoy seeing how products come together in real life, you will feel at home here.

The opportunity

We are looking for a Senior Industrial Designer to lead our Manuals and Instructions function in Kuala Lumpur.

You will own how our products are explained to customers, from first exploded view to final step. You will lead a small team of industrial designers and graphics designers, physically assemble products in the office to validate every step, and set the standard for how instructions are designed and produced.

You will report to the Head of Product (for technical direction) and work day-to-day with the KL VP.

What you will do

Lead the Manuals and Instructions team, including industrial designers and graphics designers.

Produce instruction manuals with accurate drawings, exploded views, and clear step-by-step sequences.

Physically assemble trampolines, monkey bars, and other products on-site to test and refine instructions.

Identify opportunities to simplify designs or assemblies and feed these back into Product and Engineering.

Set and maintain design standards, templates, and workflows for all instruction documentation.

Coordinate multi-stage documentation workflows from prototype through to final production.

Work closely with product, engineering, and quality teams to ensure manuals match real-world builds.

Non-negotiables (must haves)

At least 5 years of experience in industrial design.

Strong CAD and drawing skills, with a portfolio that shows clear, accurate product communication.

Experience producing manuals, assembly instructions, or similar product documentation.

Ability to lead designers and manage multi-stage documentation workflows with multiple stakeholders.

Detail-driven, hands‑on, and comfortable working with physical products and tools.

Office based in Kuala Lumpur, Monday to Friday.

Great if you also have

Experience with consumer products that require at-home assembly.

Familiarity with Illustrator, InDesign, or similar tools used alongside CAD outputs.

Experience working with global markets and localisation of manuals.

A track record of improving products by feeding back assembly insights into design.

Why Vuly

You will own a critical part of how customers experience our products worldwide.

You will work at the intersection of design, engineering, and real-world use.

You will lead a focused, craft-driven team with clear impact on safety and customer confidence.

You will help build out the KL hub as a core extension of our global product function.
