Senior Finance Executive, Project Costing

Press Metal is the largest aluminium producer in Southeast Asia, with plants and operations spanning Malaysia, Indonesia, China, Japan, Australia, the UK, and the US.

Role Description

As a Senior Finance Executive, Project Costing, your expertise will be crucial in ensuring our new projects are financially sound and on track. This is a hybrid position with an initial focus on project costing and budget control. Upon the completion of the construction phase, the role will evolve to concentrate more heavily on broader accounting responsibilities, including financial reporting, compliance, and operational finance support.

Key Responsibilities

Project Costing & Budget Control

Oversee and manage project budgets from initial setup to final analysis.

Track and validate all project-related expenses to ensure they align with the budget.

Conduct insightful variance analysis to identify cost trends and potential savings.

Work closely with procurement and operations teams to manage financial transactions related to projects.

Effectively track budgets and communicate with relevant stakeholders using written Chinese.

General Finance & Accounting

Support key financial cycles, including month-end and year-end closing.

Assist with preparing and posting General Ledger (GL) entries.

Contribute to strategic budgeting and forecasting for both project and business activities.

Ensure strict compliance with financial policies and internal controls.

Prepare essential financial and management reports, focusing on project profitability and cost analysis.

What We're Looking For

Experience: You have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in project accounting or a related financial role. Prior experience in audit, particularly within the property or construction industry, is an added advantage.

Education: A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance is required. A professional qualification like ACCA or ICAEW is a significant advantage.

Technical Skills: You are highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and have hands-on experience with accounting software like SAP or Oracle.

Language Skills: The ability to read and write Chinese is essential for this role.

Personal Skills: You are a strong team player with excellent communication skills, a keen eye for detail, and a highly analytical mind.

Stationed and remotely support from Corporate Office, Setia Alam. Willingness to travel to Jakarta as and when required.
