Job summary

Job description
Position Overview

In charge of the daily operations ensuring the effectiveness of the rostering and scheduling of manpower deployment onsite on daily basis to ensure smooth operations.

Monitor staff discipline and competency.

Liaise closely with all sections/unit in the department (internal stakeholders) and external stakeholders to ensure appropriate allocation of duties and that customer needs are met.

Liaise with the Royal Custom Department and Maqis for the compliance of the warehouse under the category of J65 and J14 for bonded warehouse, import export activity including but not limited to freighter operations, oversize cargo shipment, DGR shipment, transhipment, e-commerce and airline cargo operations.

Reconcile administrative documents within Ground Handling, Cargo Handling, Airport Operations, and SAFIZ (Free Zone Act 1990), and revert them to the respective department and Government Agencies in neat, orderly manner , recorded and checked by the Head of Department.

Carry out any other reasonable duties as instructed by the Head of Department or other SATSSB senior management team including daily housekeeping cleaning monitoring in the warehouse area.

Participate in any event or project within SATSSB including but not limited to business/commercial cargo development and marketing.

Submit weekly and monthly reports of Ground Handling to Airlines, Finance, Manager and SATSSB monthy management.

Analyze and review handling activities with relevant departments internally to ensure financial sustainability of the department.

Ensuring work life balance by participate/organise workplace safety awareness and staff competency training.

Yearly budget preparation for yearly OPEX and CAPEX planning.

Planning and Monitoring

Plans, Organises, and Monitors Activities

Justify personnel protective equipment (PPE), equipment motorized and non-motorized , and warehouse facilities required to accomplish warehouse / cargo handling activities or meet the agreed Service Level Agreement and SGHA.

Determine sufficient serviceability of facilities and equipment required and allocate equipment accordingly and reducing off load, misdirected, damage and lost cargo.

Determine and implement necessary safety and security precautions for handling and storing dangerous materials, perishable cargo, special cargo, mail, baggage, and passengers.

Have the vision to turn the warehouse area into 5S compliance Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain. The goal is to reduce waste, improve safety, and increase efficiency and quality.

Directs and Coordinates

Coordinate, through subordinate supervisory personnel, air transport, terminal cargo, warehouse, and ramp activities to provide fast and efficient services for clients and passengers.

Analyze reports and records of operations and inspect facilities to determine the effectiveness of existing methods and procedures, as well as the physical condition of facilities and equipment.

Investigate causes of accidents and recommend safety measures to prevent further occurrences.

Review performance evaluations of personnel for conformance to standards, recommend personnel actions, and direct and coordinate training activities to increase workers’ efficiency and proficiency.

Interpret and enforce, through supervisory personnel, company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.

Administrative

Ensure that administrative activities are coordinated among parties and provide management with the information and resources needed to make informed decisions.

Ensure compliance with applicable policies.

Plan, implement, and coordinate special projects, staff, and resources.

Prepare and file reports, statistics, documents, and other administrative duties to ensure smooth operation of all departments.

Ensure all documents and work carried out are in accordance with SATSSB ISO requirements.

Prepare required documentation for approval of any purchases (CAPEX and OPEX) in Airport Services.

Serve as the focal point for reconciliation of documents and corrective actions regarding audit matters (internal and external) for all departments.

Other Responsibilities

Good attitude and work ethic.

Carry out risk and safety procedures for Cargo Handling, Ground Handling, Airport Operations, and SAFIZ in accordance with company, customer, and regulatory requirements.

Execute emergency procedures (Emergency Respond Plan (ERP)) at the warehouse in the role of a cargo handler and warehouse operator.

Undertake special projects assigned by the senior management team from time to time.

Problem solver between staff and management and between management and stakeholder.

Education

Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management, Airport Operations, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred for this position.

Experience

Minimum of 4 to 5 years working experience in Airline Cargo operations / warehouse or cargo ground handling.
