As a Third Level Support Specialist, you will be responsible for resolving complex technical issues related to our print environment, including hardware (especially multi-function printers), software, and network connectivity. Additionally, you will utilize your programming skills to develop PowerShell/VBScript/Batch scripts to automate tasks, streamline processes, and improve overall efficiency. Your expertise will play a critical role in ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction and driving business growth.
Job Description
In your new role you will:
- Provide third-level support for our print environment, with a focus on:
- Troubleshooting print servers and queues
- Diagnosing hardware and software issues, particularly with multi-function printers
- Resolving network connectivity problems and protocol-related challenges
- Optimizing print workflows and job management processes
- Develop and maintain automation scripts (PowerShell, VBScript, Batch) to automate tasks, integrate systems, and enhance our print services, such as:
- Distribute configuration files and resources to servers globally
- Apply global configuration changes efficiently
- Clean up legacy files and maintain system hygiene
- Support e-fax automation and other digital workflow
- Collaborate with the architecture teams to integrate new features and functionality into the print environment.
- Analyze and resolve technical issues using various tools, including reading logfiles, debug logs, network captures, and system monitoring software.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including knowledge base articles, troubleshooting guides, and user manuals.
- Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and potential security threats to ensure the continued performance, security, and efficiency of the print environment.
Your Profile
You are best equipped for this task if you have:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology / Computer Science or any equivalent course.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a technical support role in a multi-function printing environment.
- Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems, including Windows Server and Windows 10.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, VBScript, and Batch.
- Experience with print server management, print queue configuration, and print device troubleshooting, especially multi-function printers.
- Familiarity with network protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, LDAP, and SNMP.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and develop creative solutions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
