Job summary

A construction management firm in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Quantity Surveyor with at least 4 years of experience. The ideal candidate will manage commercial and contractual matters throughout the project lifecycle and ensure compliance with standard procedures. Responsibilities include cost estimation, contract administration, and mentoring junior staff. A Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying is required, and skills in BIM will be an advantage. This role offers the opportunity to expand exposure in various construction projects.

Qualifications

  • 4 years of experience in quantity surveying or contract management.
  • Experience in consultant firms or developers.
  • Skills in BIM are advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Handle Commercial & Contract matters during the project life cycle.

  • Review cost estimation and financial documents.
  • Negotiate, collaborate, and liaise with stakeholders.
  • Manage contracts including disputes and claims.
  • Attend site for valuation and meetings.
  • Handle Purchasing matters.
  • Lead and mentor junior staff on contract issues.

Job description

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Contract principles, with a passion for exposure in different construction projects. This role is suitable for someone with 4 years of quantity surveying / contract management experience looking to expand their exposure in the construction industry.

Job Responsibilities
  • Handle Commercial & Contract matters during whole project life cycle.
  • Ensure compliance with Standard of Procedures (SOPs).
  • Review cost estimation, comparative cost studies, budget, expenditures, cost forecast and financial s-curve.
  • Strategically negotiate, collaborate and liaise with all stakeholders.
  • Contract administration and management including handling contract disputes, claims and variations.
  • Attend to site for valuation, meeting or tender matters.
  • Handle Purchasing matters.
  • Leading, mentoring and supervising junior staff on contract matters.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor Degree in Quantity Surveying.
  • At least 4 years of working experience in consultant firm / developer.
  • Skilled in BIM & Common Data Environment will be added advantage.
