Senior Component Engineer (Based in Malaysia, 1 year WFH contract)

PCI Private Limited is looking for an experienced Senior Component Engineer to join our Supply Base Management team. This position is a 1-year contract role, and will be placed under an Employment Agency.

Responsibilities:

Responsible to contribute to product cost savings through identifying opportunities including alternates for cost savings during the bid stage, build value engineering project pipeline and drive multiple VAVE projects in a timely manner to support business goal target.

Handle component changes due to obsolescence or supply shortages. Assist with location of component sources vendors and manufacturers, locate alternate sources, find component substitutions along with qualification strategy.

Monitor, identify and resolve all lifecycle issues and assist various teams to identify appropriate resources and substitutes for components.

Assess quality, reliability, and compatibility of components through testing, analysis, and collaboration with engineering and suppliers.

Analyze and evaluate design for materials, manufacturing process & supply chain for value analysis/value engineering opportunities.

Co-ordinate with Global & local stakeholders including suppliers for project execution including samples, prototypes and testing requirements.

Technical Data capture and analysis of Electronic Components from Manufacturer provided datasheets or websites.

Requirements:

Minimum a Degree in Electronics Engineering or other relevant field of studies.

At least 3 years of working experience in the EMS or an MNC environment with proven experience in managing suppliers.

Strong analysis skills, knowledge in material pricing and strategy.

Experience with evaluation and qualification of electrical/electronic component/manufacturers.

Proven experience in successful VA/VE proposals.

Experience with SAP and Microsoft Office.
