Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Channel Planning Specialist (Open Channel) to design and optimize income models, incentives, and channel strategies that drive subscriber growth and market competitiveness. This role will lead tactical initiatives, manage budgets, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver sustainable business results and long‑term channel success.

Responsibilities
Channel Income Model Management
  • Team lead in overseeing the development, execution, and dispute management of the Open Channel income model, pioneering work into placing effective drivers to acquire Malaysian subscribers and grow a solid Postpaid base.
  • Designing and validating the components, business rules, and reward structure that secure a productive dealer base to deliver Malaysian Prepaid & Postpaid subscriber acquisition, ensuring competitiveness in the market and regular review of payouts for sustainable operating cost and investment.
  • Supporting in setting the channel landscape aligned to company/CEO priorities, striving to deliver productive touch‑point growth and optimal product mix (primarily driven by Prepaid, also including Postpaid, Fibre, and/or Convergence) while maintaining sustainable operating cost.
Channel Incentive Management
  • Team lead in developing and maintaining the Prepaid base incentive scheme, ensuring market competitiveness and channel growth.
  • Timely review and setup of incentives for new or refined Prepaid product offers, with regular reviews of incentive payouts for sustainability.
  • Regular engagement with stakeholders managing Postpaid base incentive touching Open Channel, ensuring competitiveness and relevance.
Campaign / Tactical Planning, Monitoring & Execution
  • Responsible for end‑to‑end delivery of assigned tactical campaigns and activities, including budgets, planning, processes, deliverables, collaterals, communications, and coordination with stakeholders across marketing, product, sales, distribution, dealer management, operations, performance management, legal, IT, corporate communications, and finance.
  • Own monitoring of channel overall performance to track progress of initiatives and actual vs. company target.
  • Conduct critical assessment via data/report processing to identify gaps and propose interventions.
  • Manage budget, A&P, spend, and post‑evaluation for assigned initiatives to review ROI.
  • Carry out occasional on‑ground audits to ensure executional and operational excellence.
Stakeholder Management & Leadership
  • Independently manage relevant senior or operational stakeholders as needed.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop proposals or data sets.
  • Lead / facilitate presentations or forum discussions with internal or external stakeholders to acquire approval or guidance.
  • Lead briefings to Region & Sales Force for assigned channel initiatives.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in commerce‑related fields (Economics, Marketing, Accounting, Business, Finance) or equivalent.
  • 8–12 years of relevant working experience.
  • Proven track record of consistently delivering strong business results against stretch objectives.
  • Demonstrated accountability and ownership, whether as an individual contributor, team member, team leader, or through influential leadership.
  • Strong collaboration skills within the function and across cross‑functional teams.
  • Strong and effective communication skills, formal and informal, coordinating across stakeholder groups and levels.
  • Strong data analytical skills with ability to derive actionable insights from large datasets (proficiency in MS Excel, SAP, Power BI).
  • Experience in on‑ground sales and trade, leveraging practical knowledge to develop and execute operationally relevant plans; added advantage.
