Job summary

A prominent financial services company is seeking an accounting support professional in Malaysia, Sabah. The role involves responsibilities such as managing cash transactions, ensuring timely invoice processing, preparing monthly and year-end financial statements, and identifying financial discrepancies.   • Ensure timely payments to accounts payables and conduct reconciliations.
  • Handle full set of accounts activities including invoices and payments.
  • Prepare and review financial statements and schedules.
  • Identify financial discrepancies and resolve issues with departments.
  • Assist in developing accounting procedures for efficiency.
  • Support automation in the accounts department.
  • Attend weekly meetings with the business unit.
  • Provide ad-hoc financial analysis support.
  • Handle additional tasks assigned by the superior.
Job description

This role is to provide support on accounting and administration to the Head of Accounts on ensuring the accuracy of receiving, processing and managing cash transactions.

General Responsibilities
  • Follow up on dispute invoices and ensure invoices are investigated and closed in a timely basis.
  • Ensure timely payments to accounts payables and perform monthly creditors reconciliation.
  • Handle the full set of account activities including processing all invoices, posting and setting up payments, posting accruals, repayment, and more.
  • Prepare and review monthly and year‑end financial statements with accruals, reconciliations and schedules to support statutory and management reporting within the stipulated timeline.
  • Identify and investigate financial discrepancies against budget and projection, working closely with relevant departments to resolve issues, give advice and drive efficiency of operation.
  • Assist in developing and implementing accounting procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Assist in automation of both handling and reporting of the accounts department.
  • Attend weekly meetings with the business unit.
  • Provide support for ad‑hoc financial analysis and assisting the business unit in strategic decision‑making.
  • Handle any other ad‑hoc tasks assigned by the superior.
