The Senior Accountant is a vital member of the finance team, responsible for overseeing daily accounting operations, managing the month-end and year-end closing processes, preparing accurate financial statements, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements. This role often involves advanced financial analysis, budgeting support.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the General Ledger: Maintain and reconcile all general ledger accounts, including complex balance sheet and income statement accounts.
- Month-End/Year-End Close: Coordinate and execute timely and accurate month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Financial Statement Preparation: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct variance analysis and provide detailed financial insights and recommendations to management regarding company performance, cost-saving opportunities, and financial integrity.
- Accounts Management: Oversee and reconcile accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash flow activities.
- Audit Management: Coordinate and assist with external and internal audits, preparing required schedules, workpapers, and liaising with auditors.
- Tax Preparation: Assist in the preparation and review of corporate tax filings, ensuring timely submission and compliance.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to resolve accounting-related issues and streamline cross‑functional processes.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree / Professional Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience: 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Technical Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles / Standard
- Proficiency in financial accounting software
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Analytical Skills: Exceptional analytical, quantitative, and critical thinking skills.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail and a passion for accuracy.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly present complex financial data to non‑financial stakeholders.
