A financial services company located in Kuala Lumpur is seeking an experienced accounting professional to oversee daily financial operations. Responsibilities include managing accounts receivable and payable, assisting in budgeting, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The ideal candidate should possess a relevant degree, at least 2 years of experience in retail accounting, and proficiency in English and Mandarin. The role demands strong analytical skills and technical proficiency in MS Office and accounting software.
· Financial Management: Manage daily accounting operations, including Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), and bank reconciliations. Assist in the preparation and handling of full sets of accounts.
· Project Support: Assist in progress billing, claims processing, and project costing to ensure accurate financial tracking and reporting.
· Budgeting & Forecasting: Contribute to budgeting and financial forecasting processes to support effective financial planning.
· Reporting & Analysis: Perform data entry, prepare financial statements, assist with month‑end closings, and generate reconciliation reports.
· Payment Oversight: Handle various financial disbursements, including staff salaries, claims, incentives, and other company‑related payments. Monitor cheque preparation and movements.
· Cash Flow Management: Track sales aging, ensure timely customer collections, and prepare cash flow statements and financial summaries.
· Administrative Support: Provide clerical support including document filing, mailbox management, and stationery inventory control. Maintain accurate and organized accounting records.
· External Coordination: Liaise with tax agents, company secretaries, and external auditors to ensure regulatory compliance.
· Ad Hoc Duties: Support other accounting and administrative tasks as required.
· Educational Background: Possess at least a Diploma or Degree in Accountancy, ACCA, LCCI, CPA (or equivalent), demonstrating a strong foundation in financial principles.
· Relevant Experience: Minimum of 2 years of working experience in retail accounting.
· Communication Skills: Proficient in both written and spoken English. Must also be fluent in Mandarin to communicate with local and overseas stakeholders.
· Independent Worker: Highly organized, capable of multitasking, proactive, detail‑oriented, and possesses excellent problem‑solving skills in a fast‑paced environment.
· Technical Proficiency: Skilled in MS Office applications, particularly Excel and Word. Experience with accounting software is preferred.
· Analytical Mindset: Strong organizational, time management, and analytical abilities, with the capability to tackle complex financial tasks and identify numerical errors.
