Security & Safety Supervisor (Shopping Mall)
Oversees the day-to-day security operations of an organization, managing security personnel, ensuring compliance with protocols, and responding to incidents, while also developing and improving security measures.
Job Description
Team Management
- Supervising and coordinating security personnel, including scheduling, assigning tasks, and providing training.
- Monitoring performance, conducting daily briefings, and providing feedback.
- Coaching, recognizing, and disciplining staff within approved parameters.
Security Operations
- Ensuring the safety and security of people and property.
- Monitoring CCTV and other security systems.
- Responding to incidents and emergencies.
- Conducting regular patrols to identify potential breaches.
- Developing and implementing security plans and procedures.
Compliance and Reporting
- Ensuring compliance with safety protocols and security regulations.
- Preparing reports and updates for management.
- Acting as a liaison between customers, operations managers, and security officers.
Other Duties
- May be responsible for managing access control systems and other security technologies.
- May be involved in investigations and reporting on security incidents.
Job Requirements
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma: A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is typically required.
- Security Experience: Experience in security services is essential.
- Supervisory Experience: Prior supervisory experience is often a preferred qualification.
- Related Degree: A degree in criminal justice, security management, or a related field be advantage.
Skills & Abilities
- Physical Fitness: Security supervisors should be physically fit and mentally alert.
- Communication Skills: Strong communication skills are crucial for effectively interacting with subordinates and reporting incidents.
- Leadership Skills: The ability to lead and motivate a team is important.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Security supervisors need to be able to quickly assess and resolve security issues.
