Security Officer is responsible for supporting the company in implementing security programs, conducting inspections, and promoting a culture of safety throughout the organization. Their main duties are designs, implement, take control and manage security systems and measures to protect an organization’s digital assets and data from confidential risks and other threats. The responsibilities include security assessment, risk control, penetration testing, developing security plans, maintaining security systems, training for the security workforce and responding to security breaches and customer complaints.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement and enforce safety & security policies and procedures in accordance with local regulations and industry standards.
- Keep up to date with the latest regulatory requirements, amendments or industry updates and propose improvements to the organization.
- Develop a security training matrix plan and ensure execution according to the schedule.
- Design and deliver comprehensive training programs on various security topics to promote awareness and compliance.
- Assist in conducting internal audits and inspection to identify areas for improvement and ensure legal compliance and social compliance standards and regulations.
- Develop training materials and resources for ongoing education program.
- Assist in updating security protocol and follow-up implementation of risk control at workplace.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and hazard analyses to identify potential security risks.
- Recommend and implement corrective actions to mitigate identified risks.
- Respond & investigate security incidents to determine root causes. Based on the root cause analysis, develop specific corrective actions and preventive measures to address identified issues.
- Implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence and maintain detailed incident reports.
- Ensure that recommended corrective actions are implemented effectively and within the established timeline.
- Maintain security records and documentation, including incident reports, security training records, and security equipment inspection logs.
- Enforce, monitor, and highlight issues of regulatory compliance through on-site inspections, including PPE of security guards.
- Plan and conduct internal audits to assess compliance with sustainability standard and security other relevant standards.
- Coordinate external third-party audits, ensuring readiness and addressing any findings.
- Document audit processes and outcomes, and develop action plans for corrective measures.
- Monitor security workforce performance, systems and alerts to detect and respond to potential security incidents and threats.
- Implement continuous monitoring systems to track security compliance standard.
- Organize and conduct regular inspections of the factory premises to assess compliance with security regulations and identify potential hazards.
- Identify unsafe acts, conditions, and potential risks in various areas of the factory during inspections.
- Maintain detailed records of compliance activities, audit findings, and corrective actions.
- Prepare and present regular security compliance reports to senior management and external stakeholders.
- Liaise and coordinate with local uniform authorities (BOMBA, MOH & DIRAJA POLIS) on safety & security measures and related matters.
- Monitor and report for any criminal incident & emergency occurrence and control the situation before arrival of respective authorities.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in information security or IP security management, or related disciplines is a plus.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a safety & security role, preferably in a manufacturing industries.
Experience in conducting security compliance audits and assessments with a related knowledge CTPAT & NPI security.
