Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Section Head of Planning to oversee and execute production and material planning activities in a manufacturing environment. This role works closely with Production, Warehouse, Quality, Engineering, and Procurement teams to ensure smooth production scheduling, optimal resource utilization, and on-time order fulfillment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop weekly, monthly, and quarterly production plans based on sales forecasts, customer orders, and inventory levels.
- Manage and monitor Material Requirements Planning (MRP), coordinating with Procurement and suppliers to prevent material shortages or excess inventory.
- Track production capacity, output, and progress; coordinate cross-functionally to resolve execution issues.
- Analyze equipment loading, manpower allocation, and takt time, and propose capacity improvement initiatives.
- Identify and proactively manage risks related to delivery delays, material shortages, or quality issues.
- Monitor and analyze planning KPIs such as production achievement rate, on-time delivery rate, and material readiness.
- Prepare regular planning reports and updates for management.
- Drive continuous improvement of planning processes and support the effective use of ERP systems (SAP / MES).
- Lead, coach, and develop planning team members to enhance performance and execution capability.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or above in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing Management, Logistics, or related fields.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in production planning and/or material planning within a manufacturing environment.
- Prior team leadership or supervisory experience is an added advantage.
- Strong understanding of production scheduling, MRP processes, and manufacturing workflows.
- Proficient in ERP systems (SAP experience preferred) and Microsoft Excel, with good data analysis skills.
- Strong cross-department communication and coordination abilities.
- Detail-oriented, analytical, and able to work under pressure.
- Proficient in Mandarin to support communication in a Mandarin-speaking work environment.
- Age preferably 40 years old or below.
