What you\'ll be doing?
  • Strategic Sourcing and Purchasing: Analyze and optimize spending through consumption management, specification refinement, and spend consolidation. Implement sustainable purchasing practices including bulk buying, reusable packaging, and shared resources to reduce product usage.
  • Cost Management: Negotiate contracts to deliver cost savings and lead value engineering (VA/VE) initiatives. Drive cost reduction activities and monitor savings calculations to maximize value.
  • Supplier Management: Manage the complete supplier lifecycle from onboarding to phase-out, ensuring resilience, compliance, and EHS standards. Develop strategic supplier relationships, maintain a diversified supplier base, and execute commodity strategies aligned with business and product line requirements.
  • Market Intelligence and Data Analysis: Conduct regular analysis of sourcing data, global/local markets, and supplier benchmarking to identify optimization opportunities. Monitor and communicate macroeconomic and geopolitical impacts (inflation, currency movements, trade dynamics) to support executive decision-making.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and develop the sourcing team for both production and non-production materials. Set clear objectives, conduct performance evaluations, and provide training in areas such as negotiation skills and supply chain risk management. Present sourcing achievements and metrics to senior management regularly.
  • Operational Support: Support new product development launches and resolve critical operational issues through escalation processes, including line stoppages and quality concerns (PPM/cost recovery).
  • Digital Transformation: Champion the adoption of digital procurement tools and processes, including SRM systems and e-procurement platforms.
  • Supply Chain Excellence: Develop end-to-end supply chain capabilities encompassing materials control, and cost-competitive sourcing strategies. Position supply chain as a strategic partner to enhance cost and delivery competitiveness.
Who are they looking for?
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of related working experience as a section manager. With 5 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management, within electrical or electronic, Electronics manufacturing services (EMS), manufacturing, or production industries.
  • Language proficiency: Proficiency in Mandarin, English, and Malay language is a must.
  • Educational qualifications: Degree of above in Supply Chain Management, or equivalent.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and team management abilities to guide a team towards achieving strategic objectives.
  • Analytical Skills: Proficiency in data analysis and using insights to drive decision-making and process improvements.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with stakeholders and present performance metrics to senior management.
  • Supplier Management: Experience in managing supplier relationships and negotiating contracts is essential.
  • Sourcing Network: Having own EMS Sourcing Network is required.
  • Digital Acumen: Familiarity with digital procurement systems and tools to support procurement transformation.
