Qualifications

  • Proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia is essential; Mandarin is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Build and manage the Company’s Modern Trade channels.
  • Set and track monthly sales and collection targets.

  • Service existing customers while pursuing new ones.

Job Title: Sales Manager, Modern Trade

Location: Malaysia / Kuala Lumpur (Selangor) / Travel within Malaysia as required

Reporting to: National Sales Manager

Role Description

Effectively build and manage the Company’s Modern Trade channels to achieve or exceed monthly and annual business targets

Key Result Areas
  • Develop and execute sales strategies for Modern Trade channels
  • Set monthly sales and collection targets for team members and track performance to achieve company objectives
  • Develop and oversee team members to enhance their potential in meeting and surpassing monthly and annual performance targets
  • Achieve and exceed monthly and annual business targets by proactively servicing existing customers and pursuing new ones
  • Monitor inventory levels to maximise sales turnover while ensuring timely collection of aged receivables
  • Improve efficiency and coordination of sales operations with other departments of the Company
Need To Know
  • In-depth knowledge of the industry, market trends, customers, and company products.
  • Fundamental sales management and leadership principles
  • Advance sales and negotiation skills to close favourable trading terms and sales
  • Superior customer handling skills to build relationship and manage customers’ expectations

  • Participate actively in monthly and annual sales strategy planning, budgeting and forecasting process
  • Analyse and provide constructive feedback to the Management on market landscape for strategic planning and reviewing
Candidate Profile
  • Qualifications & Experience: At least 5 years working experience in Sales Management position. Added advantage for candidates with a strong FMCG background
  • Skills & Competencies: Strong leadership, field sales management, consultative selling, negotiation, and problem-solving skills; excellent communication in English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Mandarin/dialects; good IT literacy
  • Drive & Knowledge: Results-oriented, self-motivated with ownership mentality and urgency; solid understanding of key business metrics and relevant sales channels (Mass Market, Department Stores, Grocery, DIY)
