Job summary

A leading e-commerce platform is seeking dynamic individuals for its Business Development team in Kedah, specifically Alor Setar. The role focuses on exploring new business opportunities and achieving sales targets while collaborating closely with merchants. Applicants should hold an SPM or Diploma, possess sales experience—preferably in FMCG or Telco—and demonstrate strong presentation and problem-solving skills. Fluency in English and other languages is desired. Flexibility during peak business times is necessary.

The Business Development and Partnerships teams at Shopee are dynamic and energetic. The teams are always looking to acquire business opportunities to drive Shopee to be the No. 1 e-commerce platform in Southeast Asia and Taiwan. The aim of the Business Development and Partnership teams is to provide Shopee’s buyers with a wide variety of product listings at the best prices.

Job Description
  • To explore green field areas within Areas for further expansion.
  • Monitor merchants' performance by Areas to ensure merchants are on par with Shopee's current product promo/channel or campaigns. To work together closely with merchants' account management.
  • Observe and report competitor activities/programs in respective Areas and review their effectiveness/ threat/ opportunities towards Shopee. To propose Quick Win actions to maintain competitiveness within Areas.
  • To achieve sales targets for co-funding & campaigns, leading to the revenue increase.
  • Constantly ensure Shopee's presence is visible within Areas managed.
Requirements
  • Based in Kedah - Alor Setar.
  • SPM or Diploma in any field, preferred but not limited to Business, Commerce, Marketing
  • Comes with sales experience, preferably in FMCG and Telco industry would be added advantage
  • Knowledgeable and passionate about e-commerce / digital payments
  • Effective presentation skills, backed by good business acumen
  • Enjoy challenges and remain flexible in a dynamic entrepreneurial environment
  • Proactively engage, influence, and collaborate with stakeholders and cross-functional teams
  • Innovative problem-solving skills, able to dissect problems and implement solutions accordingly
  • Excellent command of English, the ability to converse fluently in other languages (e.g.: Bahasa Melayu, Mandarin) to communicate with merchants from diverse backgrounds
  • Open to flexible working arrangements during peak seasons / based on business needs
