About the Role:

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Business Development Associate to support client acquisition and revenue growth across Digital, AI, and Industry 4.0 solutions in Malaysia. Based in Cyberjaya, you will play a key role in pre-sales activities, proposal development, market research, and sales operations, enabling the team to scale and win new projects. This role is ideal for an ambitious professional eager to learn about digital transformation, AI, and smart manufacturing technologies while contributing to strategic business development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
1. Business Development & Client Engagement Support
  • Identify, research, and qualify new business opportunities across Digital, AI, and Manufacturing sectors.
  • Conduct market analysis to identify potential clients, industry trends, and competitive positioning.
  • Support initial outreach activities (emails, LinkedIn, event networking) to generate leads.
  • Assist in scheduling and coordinating introductory meetings and presentations with clients.
  • Maintain and update the sales pipeline in CRM, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting.
  • Collaborate with BD managers during the sales cycle to ensure smooth handover to delivery teams.
  • Prepare internal reports for account planning, pipeline forecasting, and performance metrics.
2. Proposal Development & Sales Enablement
  • Assist in creating, customizing, and refining proposals, presentations, and other sales collateral.
  • Work closely with internal subject matter experts and global teams to gather technical inputs.
  • Support responses to RFPs and tenders, ensuring timely submission and follow-up.
  • Maintain a repository of reusable assets, case studies, and sales playbooks to improve efficiency.
3. Sales Operations & Internal Coordination
  • Coordinate with finance, legal, and delivery teams on contracts, compliance documentation, and approvals.
  • Ensure CRM data quality and assist in generating dashboards and performance reports.
  • Support onboarding activities for new projects and ensure delivery readiness.
4. Events, Seminars & Networking
  • Participate in industry seminars, workshops, and conferences to identify new leads and build market presence.
  • Assist in planning and logistics for client events, webinars, and internal workshops.
  • Represent UST professionally to establish long‑term relationships and strategic partnerships.
5. Partnership & Alliance Support
  • Assist BD Manager in nurturing relationships with key technology partners.
  • Support joint initiatives such as co‑branded events, webinars, and solution showcases.
  • Help maintain partner documentation, certifications, and marketing collateral for alliance programs.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and partner contacts for joint proposals and campaigns.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing, or related field.
  • Interest in digital transformation, AI, and manufacturing technologies.
  • Fresh graduates or candidates with up to 1 year of experience in BD, Sales, or Sales Support roles are welcome.
  • Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail and willingness to learn.
  • Proficiency in English, Malay, and Mandarin is highly preferred for engaging with diverse regional clients.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with CRM tools is a plus.
