A leading beauty resource company in Malaysia is seeking a proactive Safety and Health Officer to ensure compliance with safety regulations and enhance workplace safety culture. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Occupational Safety and Health, a valid DOSH-certified SHO Certificate, and at least 3 years of experience. Responsibilities include conducting risk assessments, leading safety training, and coordinating health initiatives, making this role critical in promoting occupational health and safety.

The Safety and Health Officer (SHO) is responsible for ensuring full compliance with Malaysian statutory requirements, mitigating workplace risks, and driving continuous improvement in all aspects of occupational health and safety.
Key Responsibilities (Focus: Strategy, Compliance & Culture)
Risk Management & Safety Planning
Proactively conduct thorough risk assessments and hazard identification across all facilities and processes to eliminate potential dangers.
Design, implement, and rigorously enforce safety and health policies, procedures, and safety management systems in strict alignment with OSHA and DOSH regulations.
Develop robust emergency response and evacuation plans, ensuring all staff are trained and prepared for any critical situation.
Regulatory Compliance & Audit
Act as the primary liaison with the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) and other regulatory bodies, ensuring 100% compliance with the Factories and Machinery Act, OSHA, and all relevant Malaysian standards.
Manage and maintain all essential safety documentation, including official logs for inspections, incident reports, and compliance audits, ensuring readiness for regulatory review.
Training, Awareness & Culture
Lead and facilitate mandatory, engaging safety training programs for all employees, covering core topics such as PPE usage, First Aid, Fire Safety, and machinery operation protocols.
Actively promote a resilient safety culture where every employee is empowered to be a safety advocate.
Organise and execute scheduled safety drills (e.g., fire, evacuation) to test and validate emergency readiness.
Conduct detailed, root‑cause investigations into all workplace accidents, near‑misses, and incidents to prevent recurrence.
Prepare and submit timely, accurate reports on injuries and findings to senior management and regulatory bodies.
Manage the prompt reporting and correct handling of safety violations or injuries in coordination with relevant internal teams.
Systematically inspect equipment, machinery, and the general workplace environment to ensure continuous operational safety.
Coordinate health initiatives, including ergonomic assessments and wellness programs, to enhance the overall well‑being of the workforce.
Required Qualifications & Professional Credentials
A Degree or Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Health, or a closely related discipline.
Mandatory: Possession of a current and valid DOSH‑certified Safety and Health Officer (SHO) Certificate is non‑negotiable.
In-depth, practical knowledge of Malaysian safety legislation, including OSHA and the Factories and Machinery Act.
