A leading construction and installation company is seeking an experienced Occupational Safety & Health Officer in Kuala Nerang, Malaysia. The role involves ensuring compliance with safety regulations, conducting inspections and audits, and promoting safety awareness among employees. Applicants should have a Diploma or Degree in Occupational Safety & Health and be a certified Safety & Health Officer. Ensure all project sites comply with the Occupational Safety & Health Act (OSHA 1994) and other relevant Malaysian regulations.
Liaise with government authorities such as DOSH (JKKP), DOE and BOMBA to ensure compliance.
Develop and implement site safety plans and comprehensive inspection schedules.
Conduct daily and periodic site inspections, HIRARC (Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment & Risk Control) assessments and audits.
Identify unsafe conditions or practices, prepare inspection reports, and ensure timely follow-up on corrective actions.
Investigate accidents, near misses and unsafe acts, and propose corrective and preventive actions.
Develop and maintain emergency response plans and occupational health programs.
Organize and promote EHS/WSHE campaigns to enhance safety awareness among employees and subcontractors.
Conduct safety training, toolbox meetings, briefings and awareness programs.
Maintain accurate safety records, inspection reports and incident reports.
Support internal and external audits to ensure continual compliance and improvement.
Diploma or Degree in Occupational Safety & Health or equivalent.
Certified Safety & Health Officer (SHO) registered with DOSH (JKKP).
Minimum 2 years of relevant working experience, preferably in manufacturing, construction, or industrial sectors.
Familiar with Malaysian safety regulations and ISO 45001 standards.
Strong communication and reporting skills.
Able to work independently and perform site visits as required.
