The Room Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and cleanliness of assigned rooms or facilities, ensuring they meet established quality and safety standards. This role involves supervising housekeeping or support staff, coordinating room setups and maintenance, and ensuring a high level of guest or client satisfaction. The Room Supervisor also inspects rooms for readiness, handles inventory control, reports maintenance issues, and ensures compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Supervise, lead and train Rooms Attendants, as well as any casual workers from time to time.
- Conduct spot check on vacant rooms to ensure they are ready for occupancy, as well as seek feedback from in‑house guests on the room setup and cleanliness level.
- Ensure all public areas within the guest floors, including staircases, are well maintained.
- Plan and implement scheduled projects and special projects for all guest rooms, especially for deep cleaning program.
- Prepare daily maid assignment report; ensure all assignments are well and fairly distributed. Verify and update all maid assignment report at the end of the shift.
- Ensure no abuse and wastage for all guest supplies, including bath and room amenities, food & beverage supplies.
- Issue and check daily stocks and guest supplies. Raise requisition as necessary.
- Ensure all cleaning tasks are carried out properly as stipulated in standard procedures.
- Fully aware of key control and policies, especially on usage of master keys.
- Deputize the Housekeeping Supervisor during his/her absence.
- Prepare duty roster for the Room Attendants based on occupancy and rooms turnover rate.
- Organize and conduct monthly inventory for linen, guest supplies as well as operating equipment as determined by established policy.
- Ensure all working tools and equipment are in good working condition and follow proper usage procedures and method.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in hospitality management or housekeeping are a plus.
- At least 2-3 years of experience in a housekeeping or supervisory role, preferably in the hospitality or resort industry.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
