A retail company in Ipoh, Malaysia is seeking a proactive Sales Associate to engage customers and promote products. Responsibilities include achieving monthly sales targets, managing inventory, and providing feedback on product performance. The ideal candidate should have a diploma in Business or Marketing and 1-3 years of experience in retail. Strong customer-oriented skills and good communication are essential for this role. Engage with customers proactively and professionally to promote and sell products based on needs and preferences.
Achieve and exceed monthly sales targets and KPIs.
Apply cross-selling and upselling strategies to maximize basket size.
Support promotional campaigns and ensure proper execution in-store
Ensure all merchandise is well-presented, tagged, and replenished in accordance with planograms and visual standards.
Execute product layout changes, seasonal setups, and promotional displays.
Monitor product presentation quality, including cleanliness, signage accuracy, and price label updates.
Ensure merchandise is displayed to maximize visibility and customer engagement.
Assist with receiving, unpacking, tagging, and shelving new stock.
Conduct regular stock counts and report discrepancies immediately.
Identify fast-moving, slow-moving, and low-stock items and update supervisors accordingly.
Assist in maintaining stockroom organization and cleanliness.
Provide feedback on product performance, customer preferences, and visual merchandising effectiveness.
Report issues such as damaged goods, stock imbalances, or display challenges.
Perform other related tasks and assignments as required by management.
Responsibilities may change from time to time based on business or operational needs.
Education: Diploma in Business, Marketing, or related field is an advantage.
Experience: 1–3 years in retail sales or merchandising roles preferred.
Soft Skills: Customer-oriented, proactive, good communication skills, strong sense of responsibility.
