About the job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur within the Food & Beverage Department, the Restaurant Supervisor is responsible for delivering a high‑quality experience to our guests and motivating our colleagues to ensure excellent customer service. The Restaurant Supervisor reports to the Restaurant Manager.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that all menus and drinks lists given to guests are in perfect condition
• Conduct training for colleagues as well as implement regular training programmes
• Recommend colleagues movements and promotions to the Restaurant Manager
• Attend to guest requests and complaints, efficiently and courteously
• Ensure that the standards of Food and Beverage service are maintained
• Monitor and supervise small VIP functions not handled by the Banquet Department
• Ensure that all colleagues are familiar with the contents of all menus and the composition of each item
• Check reservations at the beginning of each service and ensure the station is set up completely and on time according to the reservation

Qualifications

• Knowledgeable about customer service and guest contact skills
• Knowledgeable about handling guest/ colleague complaints and dealing with guests
• Attentive and able to anticipate what guests need
• Able to work under minimal supervision
