Job summary

A restaurant management company in Kuala Lumpur is seeking an experienced manager to oversee daily operations and staff performance. This role requires a minimum of 2 years in a similar position within the F&B industry. The ideal candidate should be proficient in Japanese at the N2 level and have an advantage if they have prior experience in a Japanese restaurant. You'll ensure exceptional customer service and maintain company standards for quality and hygiene, along with conducting regular training sessions for your team.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Japanese language at N2 level or higher.
  • Prior experience working in a Japanese restaurant or in Japan is an advantage.

Job description

Responsible for the smooth and efficient daily operations of the restaurant.

Provide leadership by cultivating, guiding, and coaching staff to consistently deliver excellent customer service.

Conduct daily and weekly roll calls with employees to drive operational effectiveness and efficiency, including restaurant cleanliness, accurate order taking, customer service, and promotions.

Ensure food preparation and cooking are carried out in accordance with the company’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Handle escalated customer complaints promptly and professionally, and report issues to higher management.

Operate and provide training on the existing POS and ordering systems.

Ensure the restaurant meets or exceeds standards in food quality, safety, and cleanliness.

Manage outlet administrative duties and submit all required records and paperwork to the corporate office in a timely manner.

Provide coaching and oversee staff training and development, monitor staff performance, and manage roster planning.

Support new store setup and provide necessary staff training in accordance with company training SOPs.

Enforce discipline and proper conduct among staff to foster high morale within the outlet.

Maintain and ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures for restaurant operations.

Conduct monthly stock checks and ensure timely replenishment of inventory.

Maintain critical operational standards, including holding times, service speed and quality, and raw and finished product quality at all times.

Ensure proper sanitation and hygiene standards in the kitchen and maintain effective store presentation.

Oversee restaurant opening and closing procedures, including cleaning and washing activities.

Ensure full compliance with licensing, safety, hygiene, health, cleanliness, and sanitation regulations and guidelines.

Ensure optimal staffing levels are maintained to achieve customer satisfaction while adhering to budget guidelines.

Prepare monthly reports on restaurant performance.

Perform any other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:
  • Minimum of 2 years’ working experience in a similar role in the F&B industry.
  • Japanese language proficiency at N2 level or higher (JLPT certificate not required).
  • Prior experience working in a Japanese restaurant or in Japan is an advantage.
