Job description

We are seeking a skilled Resident Engineer (Mechanical) to join our team at KVA CONSULT (M) SDN BHD' in Langkawi, Kedah for a government hospital project. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing mechanical works, ensuring compliance with approved drawings, specifications, statutory requirements, and project timelines.

What you'll be doing

• Site Supervision: Supervise and coordinate daily mechanical construction activities to ensure works are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, contract requirements, and relevant standards.
• Quality Control & Inspection: Inspect mechanical installations, witness testing and commissioning activities, verify materials, and ensure workmanship meets required quality and regulatory standards.
• Progress Monitoring & Cost Control: Monitor construction progress, identify potential delays, and assist in managing timelines, variations, and cost control measures.
• Reporting & Documentation: Prepare and submit regular site progress reports, maintain site records, track non-conformances, and document technical issues and resolutions.
• Technical Support & Problem Resolution: Interpret mechanical drawings and specifications, resolve site technical issues, and provide engineering guidance to contractors where necessary.

What we're looking for

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Resident Engineer or in a similar role within the Mechanical Engineering industry
• Proven track record of successfully managing mechanical engineering projects, from planning to completion
• Excellent technical knowledge and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
• Proficient in the use of relevant engineering software and tools
• Adaptable, resourceful, and able to work effectively in a team environment
