Job description

This is an exciting opportunity to join PERUNDING ZAR SDN BHD as a Resident Engineer. In this full‑time role, you will be responsible for overseeing construction projects in Bagan Datuk Perak. As a key member of the Engineering team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the successful delivery of complex civil and structural engineering projects.

What you'll be doing

• Supervising and coordinating construction activities to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards
• Monitoring site progress, conducting inspections and reporting on project status to key stakeholders
• Identifying and resolving construction‑related issues, and implementing corrective actions as needed
• Reviewing and approving contractor submissions, such as plans, drawings and method statements
• Liaising with clients, contractors, consultants and other project team members to facilitate effective communication and collaboration
• Ensuring compliance with relevant building regulations, health and safety standards, and quality control procedures
• Contributing to the continuous improvement of construction processes and practices

What we're looking for

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum 5 years' experience as a Resident Engineer or in a similar construction management role
• Strong technical knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building regulations
• Excellent problem‑solving, decision‑making and conflict resolution skills
• Effective communication and interpersonal abilities, with the ability to liaise with diverse stakeholders
• Proficient in project management software and digital tools used in the construction industry
