A leading Islamic bank in Malaysia is seeking a Business Banking Relationship Manager to lead a team in originating financing facilities. The role involves ensuring compliance with standards, supervising documentation, and maintaining banker-customer relationships. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree and 8 years of relevant experience, with strong communication and product knowledge in credit and banking. The position requires strategic planning and execution to meet business KPIs.
Leading a team of Relationship Managers at HQ and/or regional offices to originate financing facilities, particularly trade finance deals. (only applicable for a team leader to each team)
Performing visits to customers’ business premises / other place of business/project sites for the purpose of financing origination / periodical portfolio monitoring/verifications / banker-customer relationship maintenance/recovery. Thereafter, to proceed with the preparation of Call Reports.
Ensure financing origination is in strict compliance with The Bank’s standard due diligence process.
Preparing Indicative Team Sheet (if required).
Financing appraisal/processing within the permissible TAT in line with the Bank’s credit appetite and business strategy, as well as in full compliance with the Bank’s Credit Policy and other governing policies.
Liaising closely with the Risk Management Department to ensure good quality of financing submissions for timely deliberation at GMICC/GBICC;
Presenting / co-presenting the financing propositions at GMICC/GBICC.
Ensuring the timely issuance of the Letter of Offer and its acceptance.
Supervising the legal documentation process to achieve timely disbursement of approved facilities.
Ensuring the team undertakes high-quality banker-customer relationship maintenance for optimum utilisation of financing facilities, their timely repayment and maximum account profitability.
Supervising the financing and periodical review on the financing portfolio, which includes annual review, watchlist review / financial review, as well as presentation to GMICC/GBICC and any further documentation that follows.
Attending to customers’ ad-hoc requests from time to time. Performing R&R proposals to rehabilitate the account, if so required by the Bank/customer, and the approval and documentation process that follows.
Undertaking necessary efforts to retain high-quality customers and to exit the relationship with the sub-standard ones.
Planning and executing annual business strategies (including forecast / projected disbursement and revenue stream on an annual basis) in line with the Bank’s bank-wide business KPI.
Executing the monthly and yearly business team's action plans to meet the team's target.
Keeping abreast of the industry and business / economic cycle to create business opportunities and enhance banker-customer relationships.
Performing cross‑selling activities of MBSB BANK’s other financing and non‑financing products whenever required.
Ensuring full compliance with the prescribed level of service standards and relevant guidelines.
Undertaking any other duties as may be assigned by the Head, Business Banking II from time to time.
