Summary

You will be responsible for the efficient running of the department in line with Hyatt International's Corporate Strategies and brand standards, whilst meeting employee, guest and owner expectations. The Recreation Manager is responsible overseeing all fitness and wellness offerings within the hotel, ensuring a high-quality and engaging experience for both leisure and business guests as well as external guest.

Core Responsibilities & Key Result Areas
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive business plan to sell gym memberships to local residents and businesses.
  • Design attractive membership tiers (e.g., Individual, Family, Corporate, Off-Peak) with competitive pricing strategies.
  • Achieve and exceed monthly and annual membership sales targets and revenue goals.
  • Implement local marketing initiatives: community outreach, partnerships with local businesses, digital marketing, and hosting open-house events.
  • Manage the entire sales cycle: lead generation, tours, closing sales, and onboarding new members.
  • Maintain accurate membership records, billing, and retention programs.
Recreational Operations & Guest Experience
  • Oversee the daily operation, cleanliness, and safety of all recreational facilities: Fitness Center/Gym, Pool Area, and Kidz Club.
  • Ensure all facilities and equipment are maintained to the highest standard, coordinating with Engineering for repairs.
  • Develop and schedule a diverse roster of engaging fitness classes (e.g., yoga, HIIT, aqua aerobics) led by qualified instructors, open to both guests and members.
  • Train and supervise the Recreation Attendant / Lifeguard team, focusing on excellent customer service, facility oversight, and basic membership promotion.
  • Create a welcoming, inclusive, and motivating environment for both hotel guests and paying members.
  • Prepare and manage the Recreation department budget, with a keen focus on the P&L for membership revenue.
  • Monitor expenses for supplies, equipment, and instructor fees.
  • Analyze membership data, guest feedback, and financial reports to make informed business decisions.
  • Ensure all operations comply with health, safety, and insurance regulations.
Qualifications
  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Sports Science, Exercise Science, Wellness Management or a related field.
