Job description

We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Eco Tour Guide to join our team at Natural History in Langkawi Kedah. As a full‑time Eco Tour Guide, you will be responsible for leading engaging and educational tours through our stunning Langkawi island, providing visitors with an immersive experience and in‑depth understanding of the local flora, fauna and ecosystem.

What you’ll be doing
  • Conduct guided tours , sharing your expertise on the diverse plant and animal life found in the area
  • Educate visitors on the importance of conservation efforts and the role the reserve plays in protecting the local environment
  • Assist with the maintenance and upkeep of the reserve, ensuring it remains a pristine natural habitat
  • Collaborate with the wider team to develop new tour experiences and educational programming
  • Respond to visitor inquiries and provide exceptional customer service
  • Comply with all safety and operational protocols to ensure the wellbeing of visitors
  • Collecting Data, Photos and Videos of flora and fauna found in Langkawi
What we’re looking for
  • Proven experience as a nature guide or in a similar role, with a deep understanding of the local flora, fauna and ecosystem
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and educate visitors of all ages and backgrounds
  • A passion for conservation and a commitment to promoting sustainable tourism practices
  • Strong problem‑solving and critical thinking skills to handle any challenges that may arise during tours
  • Fluency in English and the local language, with the ability to adapt communication style to different audiences

Required Qualifications

Diploma in the areas of: Tourism, Communication, Eco Tourism, Sports Science & Management, Marine Biodiversity, Forestry Management, Geology Science, Conservation, Biodiversity

  • First Aid certification is a plus and proficiency in multiple languages is beneficial.
  • Guided Tours and Communication skills , Customer Service and Sales experience
  • Knowledge of History and Natural Sciences , Passion for nature, wildlife, and conservation
  • Excellent interpersonal and storytelling abilities , Ability to work effectively in a team
