Job Description
- Involve in mechanical design and development activities of Agilent products (proposals, technical & risk assessment, concept study, detailed designs, analysis, drawings, prototypes, tests, etc.)
- Responsible for components sizing, calculation and selection of undertaken design (enclosures, structures, mechanism, automation, thermal management, optics, EMI shielding, fluidic system, etc.)
- Propose mechanical architecture/outline, component placement, CAD database management, platform standardization, and related initiatives.
- Key estimator of mechanical BOM cost.
- Conduct mechanical engineering tests, characterizations, cyclic and reliability tests according to product requirements.
- Communicate and collaborate with internal teams (PM, marketing/internal customers, test engineers, application engineer, hardware engineer, firmware, software engineer, production engineer, etc.) and external teams (suppliers, design partners, contract manufacturers, etc.).
- Coordinate and generate mechanical design related test cases.
- Ensure mechanical design meets product requirements and project scopes, delivering all Product Lifecycle Deliverables on committed milestones.
- Lead root cause analysis on issues found during development and sustaining phases.
- Comply with documentation requirements and database management as required in the QMS of the legal entity.
- Ensure designs are delivered according to corporate design standards and practices.
- Act as mechanical lead (technical and task lead, schedule, issue tracking, job allocation, mentoring, etc.) for NPI and sustaining projects when required.
- Provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
Qualifications
- Bachelor, Master, or PhD in Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering from an accredited college/university.
- Minimum 6 years of relevant mechanical design experience in an R&D environment.
- Experience designing automation, mechanisms, injection‑molded plastics, part/material/component selection, die‑castings, extrusions, elastomeric parts, sheet metal parts, metal stampings, interconnects, electro‑mechanical parts, and EMI shielding.
- Familiarity with ISO13485 standards and compliance requirements.
- Strong technical, analytical, and troubleshooting skills; demonstrated leadership, influencing, communication, and planning abilities.
- Team player capable of multitasking and building good rapport with internal customers, cross‑functional team members, and suppliers.
- Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment, eagerness to learn new knowledge, and capability to work independently with minimal supervision.
