Job summary

A prominent engineering firm in Penang is seeking a quantity surveyor to prepare and analyze tender documents and manage progress claims. The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management, with at least 2 years of experience in the building industry. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to work under minimum supervision. Competitive salary based on experience.

  • Study contract conditions and prepare estimates and tender documents.

Job Requirements

Study contract conditions, preambles, architectural and engineering drawing and specifications

To assist and prepare of estimates, bill of quantities, tender document, interim valuations, final account

Analyze tender document comprises of BQ, tenders and unit price

To prepare of vendor and/or contractor registration form/ documents

Preparation of tender documents, cost, and budget estimation review tender documents, submission of tender within a specific deadline and attend a tender interview.

To prepare and maintenance job files such as application/ purchase of CIDB levy, BG and insurance

Responsible for monthly progress claim, variation orders, finalize of accounts and prepare for payment certificate.

To review and prepare summary on contract receive/ Letter of Award.

Preparation of Letter of Award/ Appointment/Work order to subcontractors

To prepare the presentation & minutes of kick off meeting for each new project

To enquire, source, negotiate and shortlisted subcontractor and suppliers for awarded/ upcoming project.

To prepare and monitor progress payment claims to client/ Subcontractor

To attend site meetings, site valuation when needed.

Any other ad-hoc assigned by Manager or Superior.

Qualifications & Experiences

Possess a Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Quantity Surveying / Construction Management and/or equivalent.

At least 2 years of working experience in the building industry.

Salary will commensurate with relevant experience.

A team player, strong sense of responsibility, proactive with attention to details & able to work under minimum supervision.

Good time management, communication, negotiation & problem resolving skills.

Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
