Job summary

A construction management firm in Malaysia is looking for a Quantity Surveyor with at least 2-3 years of experience. Responsibilities include preparing tender costing, submitting tenders, collaborating with project teams, and ensuring accuracy in project execution. The role requires site visits, tracking materials, and supporting project negotiation. Candidates should have experience in managing construction documents and maintaining compliance with project specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support for project negotiation.
  • Finalize the Bill of Quantities (BQ) before closing.
  • Handle price sourcing for equipment and materials.
  • Support project team with material and specification requirements.
  • Submit the tender to Board one (1) day before submission.
  • Familiar with drawings and interpret them.
  • Collaborate with project managers and construction crews.
  • Maintain accuracy of work done at project sites.
  • Review construction plans and prepare quantity requirements.
  • Advise managers and clients on improvements.
  • Track materials and order as needed.
  • Visit sites twice a month.
  • Submit Variation Claim (VC) within 14 days.
  • Document changes in design and update budgets.
  • Travel to various sites as required.
Job description
Responsibilities
  • Able to prepare taking-off quantity and tender costing
  • To provide support for project negotiation
  • Finalize the Bill of Quantities (BQ) 4 to 5 days before closing
  • To handle price sourcing and negotiate all require equipment and material required in a tender or on-going project
  • To support project team pertaining to the project material, specification, and requirement
  • Submit the whole tender to Board one (1) day before submission
  • Familiar with drawings and able to interpret into Board of Meeting (BOM)
  • Collaborate and work with project managers, construction crews, and government agencies, when necessary
  • Maintain the accuracy of work done at project sites
  • Reviewing construction plans and preparing quantity requirements
  • Advising managers and clients on improvements and new strategies
  • Keeping track of materials and ordering more when required
  • Q.S to visit site twice (14th & 30th) a month
  • Variation Claim (VC) must be submitted within 14 days upon receiving instructions
  • Documenting any changes in design and updating budgets
  • Traveling from the office to various sites as required
