Job summary

A Malaysian construction management firm is looking for a Quantity Surveyor to prepare cost estimates and manage tendering processes. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field, and at least 2 years of relevant experience, though fresh graduates may apply for junior roles. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and QS software is necessary along with strong analytical and communication skills. This is a contract position lasting 12 months.

Job description

Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and bills of quantities (BQ) for projects.

Manage tendering processes including preparation of tender documents, evaluation, and recommendations.

Conduct cost analysis, value engineering, and provide advice on cost-effective solutions.

Manage contract administration including claims, variations, and progress payments.

Monitor project expenditures and ensure compliance with budget and cost control measures.

Prepare monthly cost reports and final accounts.

Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, and suppliers on contractual and commercial matters.

Ensure compliance with contractual terms, standards, and statutory requirements.

Skills and Experience required for the Quantity Surveyor position

Degree/Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or related field.

Minimum 2 years of relevant experience (fresh graduates may also be considered for junior roles).

Knowledge of contract administration, cost management, and tendering procedures.

Proficient in Microsoft Office and QS-related software (e.g., CostX, Cubicost, etc.).

Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
