Position Summary

You are applying for the position of Quantitative Analyst for company Soprano Design. Please fill in your details below to submit an application for this position.

Quantitative analysis is a vital component in the day-to-day operations within Soprano and our team in KL are excited to welcome an inquisitive big data navigator to impact and shape the future of our business. As a Quantitative Analyst, you will be tasked with analysing, deriving insights, and executing strategies to grow GP in a competitive trading-like setting. The role involves navigating and strategizing in imperfect information scenarios and executing it in a detailed tactical level to directly improve monetary and service results.

Using a variety of quantitative and stochastic methods, you will have the opportunity to translate complex mathematical methods into business outcomes. You will also have the chance to communicate these ideas and analysis to senior leadership. By helping the organisation make informed decisions, take risks with high expected value while navigating and hedging against said risk and uncertainty, you have a direct and significant influence on the profitability of the business.

Key Responsibilities

This includes but is not limited to:

  • Develop, implement, validate, and continuously improve quantitative models to analyse and derive insight from data.
  • Understand the data at a deep hands-on level to control outcomes at a fine granular level.
  • Automate the analysis and models to run in real time and at scale.
  • Develop trading strategies to boost GP, hedge against risk and balance conflicting outcomes in imperfect game theory scenarios.
  • Proactively look for ways to measure and obtain information, including competitor pricing analysis, behaviour analysis in a multi‑competitor competition, and implementing indirect metrics to create emergent variables to handle and measure uncertain factors.
  • Present and communicate analysis, insights, and strategies to various internal stakeholders in a relevant and understandable manner.
Skills & Experience to Succeed
  • At least 2 years of experience in utilising quantitative techniques on business or financial data.
  • Experience in implementing mathematical and machine learning models in programming languages such as Python, R, Haskell etc.
  • Excellent and creative problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Experience in developing and executing strategies to improve monetary outcomes, including managing exit strategies and hedging against risk.
  • Solid background in mathematics, statistics, game theory, and stochastic modelling.
  • Must be independent and self-directed.
  • Demonstrate high standards of performance and behaviour.
