Quality Technician – Jabil, Inc.
The Quality Technician at Jabil, Inc. plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality and integrity of our products and processes. This position involves performing inspections, testing, and documentation to maintain high-quality standards and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct in-process, final, and incoming inspections of materials, components, and finished products according to established procedures and specifications.
- Perform various quality tests and measurements using precision instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges, optical comparators) and interpret results.
- Document inspection and test results accurately and completely, identifying and reporting any non-conformances or deviations.
- Assist in the investigation of root causes for quality issues and support the implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and other departments to address quality concerns and improve manufacturing processes.
- Maintain and calibrate quality inspection equipment as per schedule and established protocols.
- Participate in the review and update of quality control documentation, including work instructions and inspection plans.
- Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and responding to inquiries.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, promoting a safe working environment.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying areas for process optimization and suggesting solutions.
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in a technical field (e.g., Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering) preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience in a quality control or quality assurance role within a manufacturing environment, preferably in electronics, medical devices, or a similar industry.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Demonstrated ability to use various inspection and measurement tools accurately.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Good understanding of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 13485) and quality tools (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams) preferred.
- Basic computer proficiency, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds as needed.
