I. Primary Purpose of the Position
This position supports manufacturing process and product quality by applying Goodyear standards and procedures to solve problems related to new product industrialization. The incumbent applies standard tools to improve customer satisfaction and process capability.
- Support tire industrialization efforts (plant, tire design, EPL, IE).
- Ensure quality standards/procedures are met during industrialization and at product release.
- Link with outside stakeholders (IE, NPI other regions, compounding) to support technical problem-solving.
- Identify problems and deliver solutions with appropriate tools/methods.
- Coordinate and plan development workload via OMC and Cosmos.
- Coordinate advanced planning activities (DFMEA, R. vs. C. analysis, industrialization planning, capability studies, MRM, PFMEA); apply techniques to anticipate and mitigate risks.
- Coordinate Plant Tire Release Process and assist on-site in APAC.
- Support KPI achievement in AOP (on‑time delivery, quality, buildwire effectiveness).
- Support BW 2.0 system maintenance, enhancement, and best practices.
II. Primary Duties / Responsibilities:
1. TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY (40% of time)
- Drive and coach others in the use of known technical solutions to meet product requirements.
- Possess a solid understanding of available technology and standards. Consult with experts on appropriate level of technology. Avoid inappropriate risk.
- Coach others on processes within a functional group. Drive process improvements globally across functions.
- Collaborate globally and cross-functionally. Communicate and document effectively, following knowledge standards.
- Improves or enhances product, process, technologies leading to innovation.
2. PROBLEM SOLVING (35% of time)
- Coach others in recognition and identification of problems.
- Drive new problem solving strategies globally.
- Use collaboration to solve problems and make decisions between teams, functions, and divisions globally.
- Drive new tools and methods to solve problems and make decisions. Effectively use internal resources.
- Collect data and inputs to make quality decisions. Drive and coach others in making decisions.
- Achieve impactful results and improve process/approaches used by others. Coach others on complex problems.
- Drive the use of, and coaches others in, new data analysis techniques globally.
3. PROJECT MANAGEMENT (25% of time)
- Use and promote application of project management tools and standards in the execution of projects.
- Effectively execute steps to initiate project, while driving and coaching others in the process. Deliver project objectives through effective project planning. Project may be cross functional, divisional, or global.
- Develop solutions to project risks. Coach others on project risk management process.
- Successfully execute and implement projects. Drive and coach others. Manage process closeout process, while coaching others.
- Drive existing and new methods and coach others on project conflict resolution. Proactively manage conflict.
