Job summary

A leading construction firm in Malaysia is seeking a qualified individual to oversee quality assurance and control for solar energy projects. Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering and 3-5 years of experience in MEP QA/QC processes. The role involves conducting inspections, ensuring compliance with relevant codes, and coordinating with various stakeholders to resolve quality issues. Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in MEP QA/QC, preferably in solar or renewable energy projects.
  • Certifications in QA/QC, Solar Technology, or Construction Management are advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct inspections and testing for building (e.g., HVAC, electrical components).
  • Review and verify MEP works against approved drawings and specifications.
  • Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with NEC, IEC, UL, and other relevant standards.
  • Prepare and maintain QA/QC documentation including Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), and Quality Reports.
  • Coordinate with consultants and clients for inspection activities and approvals.
  • Liaise with project managers, engineers, and contractors to resolve quality issues.
  • Participate in QA/QC meetings and support internal audits.
  • Supervise testing and commissioning of MEP systems.
  • Ensure timely closure of NCRs and suggest improvements for quality processes.
  • Review material submittals and shop drawings for compliance.
  • Maintain logs for inspections, test results, and permanent material approvals.
  • Ensure adherence to ISO QMS & EHSMS procedures and maintain legible records.

Skills

Strong understanding of solar power systems and MEP components
Knowledge of construction codes, standards, and QA/QC methodologies
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and MS Office Suite
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Ability to lead and work effectively in a team-oriented environment

Education
