Job summary

A leading quality control firm in Malaysia is seeking a detail-oriented individual for a role focused on production artwork quality control. The successful candidate will ensure the accuracy of artwork, provide guidance to artists, and stay informed on packaging regulations. Required qualifications include experience in the printing or pre-press industry, proficiency in design software, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Training will be provided.

Qualifications

• Proven working experience as a proof reader or quality controller in the printing or pre-press industry is preferred.
• Ability to interpret concept and/or brand guidelines through to artwork execution.
• Good understanding of effective Print, Photo Studio, and/or Digital production processes.

Responsibilities

• Check the accuracy and consistency of production artwork against supplied copy data.
• Monitor performance of production artwork artists to ensure expectations are met.
• Update internal libraries of operating procedures.

Job description

Primary Responsibilities

• Check the accuracy and consistency of all production artwork against supplied copy data on final decision prior to release.
• Follow technical requirements and standards as indicated in company, client and government
• Give clear and concise instructions to production artwork artists regarding any changes or corrections
• Monitor performance of the production artwork artists to ensure that all expectations are met for
• Keep abreast of all Standards of Practice, new legal packaging requirements and inform all departments of any changes in regulations.
• Update internal libraries of operating procedures and
• Undertaking of the day-to-day quality inspection

Job Requirements

• Secondary School/ Diploma/ Degree in Art & Design, Graphic Art, Printing Technology, Advertising, Interior Design, Multimedia or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key accountabilities of the job.
• Proven working experience as a proof reader or quality controller in the printing or pre-press industry is preferred.
• Required skills: Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat, Ms Office.
• Desirable skills: Adobe InDesign, Esko.
• Languages required: English written and spoken.
• Ability to interpret concept and/or brand guidelines through to artwork execution (e.g. digital, photographic, etc.).
• Possess good understanding of effective Print, Photo Studio, and/or Digital production, processes, roles, tools (digital and conventional) and workflow practices and trends.
• Knowledge in Pre-media and/or Creative Services and solutions.
• Knowledge in photo and color manipulation techniques and processes is preferred:
  • Color separations
  • Color conversion (e.g RGB‑CMYK) and correction
  • Profiling (e.g. Press)
  • Trapping and bleeding of imagery
• Knowledge in Pre-press and Print production techniques and processes is preferred:
  • Color separation pertaining to specific printers
  • Trapping, Bleeding, Stepping
  • Color rotation
  • File resolution
  • Raster Image Processing (RIP)
• Mature, hardworking and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• On-the-job training will be provided.
