A leading chemicals company in Malaysia is seeking a Quality Control Chemist responsible for maintaining the quality of production batches. The role includes supporting the QC manager, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and coordinating product development activities. Job description

As a Quality Control Chemist, you're responsible in determining the quality of every production batch manufactured in the plant. This role requires discipline in maintaining the outmost integrity in evaluating the result of the production batches objectively through the standard test as required in the product. EHS and 5S is critical to ensure the safety of all personnel and maintain the standards in the plant and it must be complied by the incumbent. You will report directly to Quality Control Manager.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support QC manager to ensure all the safety, quality and customer requirement are followed.
  • Ensure all the departmental procedure are followed and update the process flow whenever required.
  • Coordinate and support new product development activity related to product Quality.
  • To perform investigation with team on customer complaint, SSPL & return goods.
  • Work with manager, co-worker and technical to resolve the product quality issue.
  • Raise the internal CAIR to related section if there are any abnormality observed.
  • Weekly or monthly quality related reporting
  • Lead the new product supervision and hand over process.
  • Improve productivity by develop initiatives to eliminate the non-value-added test.
  • Maintain good 5S and EHS compliance in the work area.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Biochemistry, Engineering or related discipline
  • Minimum 1 year of quality control or chemist experience from a coatings or chemical company
  • Preventive maintenance monitoring and finished goods product footprint implementation
  • Manual spray-painting skill is an added advantage
