About the role

This is a full‑time QA Manager position at BW Yee Seng Steel Industries Sdn Bhd in Valdor Penang. As the QA Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the quality assurance and control processes within the manufacturing operations, ensuring the highest standards of product quality and customer satisfaction.

What you'll be doing

• Developing and implementing comprehensive quality assurance systems and procedures
• Establishing and maintaining quality control protocols, including inspection, testing, and documentation processes
• Monitoring production processes and identifying opportunities for quality improvement
• Collaborating with cross‑functional teams to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions
• Analysing quality data, generating reports, and making recommendations to senior management
• Providing training and guidance to the quality assurance team to enhance their skills and knowledge
• Ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and customer requirements

What we're looking for

• At least 8‑10 years of experience in the steel industry and quality assurance & control within a manufacturing or industrial environment, preferably in scaffolding, racking, pipe, and roofing.
• Minimum 3‑5 years in a managerial or leadership role, overseeing QA/QC teams across multiple business units.
• Strong understanding of quality management systems, statistical process control, and lean manufacturing principles
• Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve quality issues
• Proficient in the use of quality assurance tools and software, such as SPC, FMEA, and Six Sigma
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field
