Job description
Role Overview

We are looking for a Procurement Executive to act as the custodian of ingredient quality, supply continuity, and procurement value across 5–6 outlets within our restaurant group, including Chinese banquet and live seafood restaurants, a Cantonese dim sum shop, a Western café, and premium food kiosks.

This role goes beyond routine purchasing. You will operate as a market-facing representative of the business, building strategic supplier relationships while working closely with chefs and operations to ensure our food standards, cost discipline, and growth plans are sustainably supported.

The ideal candidate combines commercial sharpness, ingredient literacy, and relationship finesse, and is comfortable operating in structured and traditional Chinese restaurant-business environments.

Who Will Excel in This Role
  • Has a natural eye for detail and a strong sense of commercial logic
  • Is highly curious about:
    1. Ingredients
    2. Market movements
    3. Supplier behaviours
  • Enjoys building long-term supplier relationships, not just transactional sales contacts
  • Is comfortable holding professional, high-level conversations with suppliers, chefs, and senior management
  • Understands the nuances of Chinese cuisine ingredients, seasonality, and quality grading
  • Can spot opportunities to introduce new ingredients, improved alternatives, or better sourcing strategies
  • Takes full ownership of procurement outcomes — cost, quality, consistency, and reliability
Key Responsibilities

Own the end-to-end procurement function for food ingredients, packaging, kitchen equipment, and operational supplies across all outlets.

Lead procurement for new outlet openings, from equipment sourcing to initial inventory planning.

Partner closely with chefs and operations teams to ensure timely, cost-effective sourcing aligned with Chinese culinary standards.

Develop and manage strategic supplier relationships, negotiating pricing, quality specifications, service levels, and supply continuity.

Monitor market trends and price fluctuations for key Chinese ingredients and proactively manage sourcing risks.

Oversee inventory coordination with storekeepers, ensuring stock accuracy and disciplined procurement practices.

Prepare purchasing performance summaries, supplier evaluations, and cost analyses for management review.

What We Value More Than Titles
  • Commercial judgement over rigid process
  • Clear thinking over aggressive bargaining
  • Long-term supplier value over short-term wins
  • Ownership mindset over task completion
Requirements
  • Diploma or Degree in Purchasing, Supply Chain, Business, or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and relationship management skills.
  • Comfortable working independently and interfacing directly with senior stakeholders.
  • Proficient in Excel and basic inventory tracking systems.
  • Willing to travel for supplier and outlet visits as required.
  • 2–3 years of relevant purchasing experience in F&B and exposure to Chinese cuisine will be a strong advantage.
