Job summary

A leading logistics management company in Malaysia is looking for an experienced Project Manager to enhance business process efficiency and operational performance within its freight forwarding operations. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 4-5 years of project management experience, ideally in the freight forwarding industry, with strong data analysis and stakeholder management skills. Communication with Mandarin-speaking stakeholders and proficiency in CargoWise One and Microsoft Excel are highly preferred.

Overview

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to drive business process improvement and operational performance initiatives within our client’s freight forwarding operations. This role works closely with regional stakeholders across APAC to deliver impactful projects that improve efficiency, service quality, and KPI performance.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and support project management activities in the freight forwarding industry, focusing on business process improvement, performance optimization, and KPI improvement plans.
  • Develop project management documents such as budgets, schedules, scope statements, and project plans.
  • Execute project management administrative tasks including invoices, purchase orders, and inventory reports.
  • Collaborate with China and India teammates to follow up on projects and action items across APAC countries.
  • Supervise the project procurement process.
  • Coordinate meetings with stakeholders to assess needs, define requirements, acceptance criteria, and timelines.
  • Allocate project resources to ensure the team has what is needed at the right time.
  • Assign tasks to team members and clarify expectations for milestones and deliverables.
  • Generate high-level progress reports and provide updates to stakeholders and management.
  • Schedule stakeholder meetings and generate reports.
Requirements
  • Min 4-5 years of experience in project management.
  • Experience in the freight forwarding industry, preferably in operations or operations process improvement.
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with Mandarin-speaking stakeholders based in China.
  • Proven ability to lead and support operations process improvement initiatives.
  • Experience working with cross-functional and regional teams across APAC.
  • Strong skills in data collection, consolidation, and analysis to support operational and business decisions.
  • Ability to summarize qualitative and quantitative feedback into actionable insights.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Experience preparing and delivering presentations to senior management and executive-level audiences.
  • Experience with CargoWise One (highly preferred).
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data analysis, reporting, dashboards).
