Qualifications

  • Very good skills with Microsoft Office, particularly MS Excel.
  • Outstanding written and verbal English skills.
  • Ability to speak Mandarin is an advantage.

Responsibilities
  • The objective is to guarantee that all projects are completed within the specified time and budget constraints, meeting all requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineers, operations team, etc. to determine the specifications of the project.
  • Determine needed resources (manpower, equipment and materials) from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations.
  • Plan all construction operations and schedule intermediate phases to ensure deadlines will be met.
  • Acquire equipment and material and monitor stocks to timely handle inadequacies.
  • Evaluate progress and prepare detailed reports.
  • Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards and report issues.
  • Planning: To effectively manage time, finances, and materials for the construction project, a project plan is essential. This means making a detailed plan and watching it closely to stay on schedule.
  • Formwork Instructor Teams: The project manager will give teams ownership over their work. They must also supervise them to ensure the work is being done on time, within budget and meeting quality expectations.
  • Setting Goals: Projects have goals determined by the client. The project manager must communicate those goals to the team and ensure they are met, including performance, precision, and any client requirements.
  • Meeting Deadlines: The schedule is a major constraint. There are milestones to meet within the overall project timeline.
  • Staying on Budget: The project manager monitors costs and keeps the team within budget by creating accurate estimates and tracking expenses.
  • Updating Stakeholders: The project manager reports progress and cost performance to the client, providing regular updates to manage expectations.
  • Keeping the Peace: The project manager resolves conflicts to prevent schedule or budget impacts.
  • Managing Risk: Identify and solve problems early to avoid impacts on schedule, budget, or quality throughout the project lifecycle.
  • And any other tasks assigned.
Qualifications
  • At least a Diploma in Project Management and/or Engineering and/or Business/Sales Management, and/or Quantity Surveying.
  • Some initial experience in Project Management within a robust MNC environment in Malaysia, ideally gained from an industry supplying the construction sector.
  • Very good skills with Microsoft Office, particularly MS Excel.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, organization, follow-up and negotiation skills and a strong numerical aptitude.
  • Team oriented, positive attitude and personal effectiveness and credibility.
  • Outstanding written and verbal English skills.
  • Ability to speak Mandarin is an advantage.
  • In-depth understanding of construction procedures and material and project management principles.
  • Familiarity with quality and health and safety standards.
  • Familiarity with construction/project management software.
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • A team player with leadership abilities.
