A leading interior design and build company in Malaysia is seeking a Project Manager. The role involves end-to-end project planning, design management, and client coordination. The ideal candidate has 5–8 years of relevant experience and a degree in a related field. Lead end-to-end project planning, including scope development, timelines, resources, and budget allocation.
Coordinate with clients, designers, consultants, contractors, and internal teams to ensure project alignment.
Conduct feasibility studies, site assessments, and risk evaluations prior to project commencement.
Oversee the design development process from concept to construction drawings.
Ensure design proposals meet client requirements, regulatory standards, and project constraints.
Review and approve design submissions, ensuring constructability and adherence to brand or technical specifications.
Manage daily project execution, including site operations, contractor performance, and work progress.
Ensure compliance with local Malaysian regulations, building codes, safety standards, and industry best practices.
Conduct regular site meetings, inspections, and quality control checks.
Prepare and manage project budgets, cost estimates, and financial forecasts.
Oversee procurement of materials, subcontractors, and services, ensuring cost-effectiveness and timely delivery.
Track project expenditures, variations, and ensure proper documentation.
Serve as main point of contact for clients, ensuring clear communication and expectation management.
Provide regular progress reports, resolve project issues, and manage change requests.
Ensure strong stakeholder engagement and positive client experience throughout the project lifecycle.
Prepare weekly/monthly progress reports, including timelines, cost updates, risks, and mitigation actions.
Ensure all project documentation is complete, accurate, and properly filed, including contracts, drawings, and permits.
Manage project close-out activities including inspection, testing & commissioning (T&C), defect rectification, and final handover.
Ensure all as-built drawings, warranties, manuals, and compliance documents are provided.
Bachelor’s Degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, Interior Design, or related field.
Minimum 5–8 years of project management experience in design & build, construction, architectural, or interior fit-out projects.
Proven portfolio of managing commercial, office, retail, industrial, or hospitality projects (depending on company focus).
Strong understanding of construction processes, local regulations, building codes, and safety requirements in Malaysia.
Proficient in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, Monday.com) and design software (AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit preferred).
Knowledge of cost estimation, tendering, material specifications, and contract administration.
Excellent leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
Strong communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
Ability to multitask, problem-solve, and make decisions under pressure.
High attention to detail, good organisational habits, and strong accountability.
Possess a valid driving licence and willingness to travel between project sites.
PMP, PRINCE2, or CIDB certifications are an advantage.
