We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in the roadside industry, including roadside infrastructure, maintenance, and improvement projects. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in planning, executing, and supervising roadside construction projects, ensuring safety, quality, regulatory compliance, and timely completion. Strong leadership, coordination with stakeholders, and ability to manage multiple teams and contractors are essential.
Responsibilities
- Oversee overall project activities throughout project design, planning, execution, and completion.
- Liaise with clients, client representatives, authorities, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure execution and quality of work.
- Provide technical support.
- Develop and maintain good communication and relationships with the client and all relevant parties.
- Provide leadership and guidance to project team members for the implementation of the project quality plan, safety plan and execution of the contract requirements.
- Assist in setting up project-specific quality control measures.
- Participate in or conduct project kick‑off meetings.
- Participate in contract award negotiations with suppliers and sub-contractors and provide guidance to suppliers and subcontractors on the company’s quality management system requirements and contract-specific requirements.
- Plan manpower, materials, equipment, and other resources required for the project.
- Provide guidance to subordinates in problem-solving, customer complaints, and project coordination.
- Attend all meetings as required by the project meeting table. Overall responsibility for Health and Safety on project site.
- Ownership of cost, time and quality targets of the project and report on project budget, estimate, costing and cash flows.
- Monitor and participate in the project risk identification and mitigation plan development process.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering is a must.
- Registered with BEM.
- Minimum 12 years of experience in Civil Engineering Works. Must possess experience in JKR road and bridges projects in the capacity of Project Manager with a contracting company.
- Good leadership quality and planning skills with sound and detailed knowledge of construction methods, project management, cost control, contracts, safety and quality management.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to lead and motivate site personnel.
- Computer literate and familiar with MS Office Application Software, MS Project and AutoCAD.
- Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills in Bahasa Malaysia and English.
- Possess valid class D local driving license.
