Job summary

A leading solar energy company in Johor Bahru is seeking an experienced engineer to conduct site surveys and design solar PV systems. The candidate will manage sub-contractors and collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure project success. A bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and at least 3 years of experience in the solar or electrical industry are required. Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and ERP systems is essential. The ideal candidate is proactive, self-motivated, and a team player.

Qualifications

• Candidate must possess at least Bachelor's Degree/Post Graduate Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
• At least 3 years of working experience in Solar or Electrical industry.
• Proficient in AutoCAD.
• Willing to travel or relocate with own transport.

Responsibilities

• Conduct engineering site survey for solar PV system installation.
• Design solar PV system including electrical, structural, and mechanical aspects.
• Plan and manage material purchase and subcontract via ERP system.
• Liaise and manage sub-contractors for their scope of works.
• Setup remote monitoring system and conduct test & commissioning of the solar PV system.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Conduct engineering site survey for solar PV system installation
• Design solar PV system including but not limited to electrical, structural and mechanical
• Plan and manage material purchase and subcontract via ERP system
• Liaise and manage sub-contractors for their scope of works, schedules and monitoring workmanship qualities or subcontractors during installation
• Attend site meeting or any ad hoc meeting
• Work with internal and/or external parties such as TNB, consulting firms, local authorities licensing matters and documentation
• Liaise and coordinate with TNB HQ & local authorities on meter installation and grid interconnection of solar PV system
• Setup remote monitoring system and conduct test & commissioning of the solar PV system.
• Weekly reporting and new project scheduling
• Implement best practices and safe work procedure for every project
• Organize a post mortem meeting for evaluation of project results, challenges faced and provide recommendations for future improvement
• About the Projects: Candidate will involve in C&I-scale solar PV developments for premium clients in the green energy sector, including a flagship portfolio aligned with Gentari's sustainability goals

Requirements

• Candidate must possess at least Bachelor's Degree/Post Graduate Diploma/Professional Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• At least 3 Year(s) of working experience in Solar or Electrical industry
• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply
• Ability to multi-task and work in fast paced environment
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Project and other related Microsoft Office Product
• Proficient in ERP system will be an added advantage.
• Proficient in AutoCAD
• Knowledge and experience in Solar PV system and PVSYST will be an added advantage
• Willing to travel or relocate with own transport
