Job summary

A leading manufacturing company in Rawang, Malaysia is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to manage engineering projects and CAPEX. The candidate must hold a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and have at least 3 years of experience in the manufacturing or chemical industry. Knowledge of project management and design software like AutoCAD is essential. The role requires adherence to safety and quality standards while preparing necessary project documentation.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of working experience in manufacturing, chemical process industry or edible oil industry.
• Familiarity with project management is important.
• Execution experience of projects is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, schedule, coordinate and monitor engineering projects/CAPEX.
• Compile RFQ and manage procurement of process equipment.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Preparing, scheduling, coordinating and monitoring the assigned engineering projects/CAPEX.
• Preparation, compilation and evaluation of tender documents.
• Compile RFQ and manage procurement of process equipment, instruments, pipe fittings, etc.
• Ensure all the equipment records and updated P&ID drawings are kept in proper order and in line with ISO requirements.
• Monitor expenditure on project costing and timeline, identify and recommend potential areas of saving.
• Prepare monthly project / CAPEX report.
• Ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
• Maintain close liaison and coordination with other departments.
• Be accountable for the implementation of GMP/HACCP system.
• Compliance with Occupational Safety & Health Act 1994, Environmental Quality Act 1974, Factory & Machinery Act 1967, and Responsible Care.
• Comply with all quality standards and requirements imposed by the Company and product specifications required by local and international clients.
• Any other assignment that may be assigned from time to time.

Job Success Requirements

• Bachelor Degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Chemical) or Industrial Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of working experience in manufacturing, chemical process industry or edible oil industry.
• Familiar and good knowledge in project management; execution experience of projects is an advantage.
• Knowledge of application usage of CMMS software (preferably SAP).
• Excellent knowledge of design and visualization software such as AutoCAD.
• Organized, meticulous and able to work independently.
• Able to work under pressure and perform within tight deadlines.
